Recommendations for the Landscape Institute

LandScape Institute

One of the projects I have fulfiled was with the Landscaping Institute for a Public Sector Strategy.  This involved detailed research, a survey of members and conversations with the key stakeholders, analysis and report writing, to produce a consise and practical report with clear recommendations for action by the Institute Management and the Board.

“Thank you for all your hard work and for putting some discipline into the scatter gun approach we have tended to take. A great deal to consider – Chair of Trustees

Pesticide-Free Towns

Recent Consultancy work includes research, presenting and promotional work for the Pesticide Action Network’s Pesticide-free Towns campaign.

The focus of this was on persuading more local authorities to commit to going pesticide-free, following the lead of councils like Brighton, which I worked for.

I took the campaign to Cornwall Council to get first hand experience and worked on the campaign’s wording and targeting.  I also chaired a session at PAN’s national conference on the campaign.

If you’d like to find out more information on the Pesticide Action Network, head over to the PAN-UK website and take a look at the campaign.

“Thanks Thurstan for your very valuable advice and all the useful tips – you are a star. You really helped us and it was great to have you around” – PAN’s CEO

One Planet Living Action Plan

One Planet Living Action Plan

One Planet Living

Currently I am developing a One Planet Living Action Plan, based on the BioRegional approach, for the large social enterprise Real Ideas Organisation (RIO)
This involves research and work with key staff and stakeholders, setting up workshops and meetings online, and re-working RIO’s sustainability strategy.
I have written a weekly blog on each of the ten principles of One Planet Living.

“This is great – thanks Thurstan, I love the authenticity. These blogs are great at keeping the message alive.” – RIO Head of Operations.”
